Q1: Let’s start with the common question, if you can kindly introduce yourself.
Hello, chums and boobs. (puts on monocle)
I am Vitaly S Alexius, freelance illustrator of sorts who operates on the global network of internets to turn art into bread and other more frivolous necessities like a bathtub full of pancakes.
Q2: How did you get into the field of your work?
My parental unit had some sort of pre-determined step-by-step plan to make me an artist. She put together as much artist DNA as she could find and then mentally motivated me to draw throughout many years until I have reached insolent age and moved to Chinatown. Forced to feed myself I resorted to drawing things in exchange for stocks, bonds, shares and breadcrumbs, aka finally utilizing the superpower that was encoded within my cells by her.
Q3: Do you have any current favourite artists, photographers who may have influenced you to become the digital artist that you are?
Aivan Aivazovsky- google him. He painted the struggle of man against the ocean. I paint the struggle of men against nuclear war.

Q4: What are the main tools of your trade?
iMac, photoshop cs4 – items permanently hijacked from my fiancee’s desk ever since my own computing device has mysteriously caught fire and had to be thrown out the window.
Canon 5D Mark II, wacom tablet – item obtained on ebay from shady sellers without questions.
Q5: How was it for you to learn the process of that? Did you teach yourself, take classes or learn from other existing artist’s tutorial?
My artist friend taught me photoshop tools. Later, he went to study ancient religious texts and god forbade him from drawing people.
Now only I posses the secrets and dark knowledge of electronic arts. May the fates protect me against his fate.
Q6: Do you think its possible for you to describe the process of your art style, what are the dos and don’ts, the important aspects you set yourself to achieve your style of design, is it important to develop sense of composition and design to produce your digital art?

To describe in boring text:
Someone shoves a painting idea in my face or I come up with one by exploring abandoned buildings/dark caves/misty jungles. I add a “human element” to the work by covering naked models in oil and photographing them.
Do’s: Have the most fun possible!
Don’ts: Ummm… Ehhh… Don’t try to eat your assistant? It’s not worth it.
Also, if art isn’t fun- you shouldn’t be doing it to begin with. Go become a scientist and cure cancer instead.
A sense of composition and design shouldn’t be forced. It lives in my artist DNA – I draw what “feels correct”.
Some people prefer drawing stick figures and this is just as good and awesome, as long as it makes them happy inside and full of juices.

Q7: What are the biggest struggles you encounter as a digital artist?
Hurmmmm… struggles? Is this a trick question?
Sometimes I can’t find my glasses because there are so many clothing items in my room that have been recklessly thrown about by my fiancee and I’m too lazy to pick them up so I have to wade through a sea of bras, searching blindly for them.
Wait I have a better one! Just today, I grabbed a sample of ham in a grocery store, but I wasn’t hungry enough to eat it, so I had to carry it around like a boob for 20 minutes because there are no trash cans in a grocery store.
Q8: Do you have any other future plans that don’t involve digital art? Would consider working outside that field and into something new?
No. Working outside the norm is scary, just like going outside is scary because the sun emits a steady stream of nuclear radiation that will make my skin peel off, my blood boil and my organs explode if I stare into it. Perhaps someday in the future, when my arms and legs are replaced with robots, I can go outside and try paragliding and cloud painting.
Q9: Do you have any personal mottos, quotes or existing quotes that motivates you to do what you love doing? Can you share it with us?
“Draw or I will keel you” – my fiancee’.
Q10: To round off the last question, where can your fans and new fans find updated news and progress from you, where can we find you?
And if that’s down, just google my name- “Vitaly S”.
