Q1: Let’s start with the common question, if you can kindly introduce yourself.
Shantel Knight aka Zombie Bit Me
Q2: How did you get into the field of your work, you are currently an artist yourself, and a cosplay model?
How did I get into the line of my work, well the cosplaying was a random thing I started out modelling here and there for things and being an artist has always been a passion of mine. Loving art in almost every way specially when it came to geeky stuff like video game art, comics, and anime/manga. As well as photography. I have always photographed as well as edited a lot of my own pictures when I started out. After all the experience I had with that I started realising what cosplaying was about and decided to add it into my art, I started this about 4 or 5 years ago. However this year has been big for me, my cosplays are beginning to be noticed more and more, I’ve also started modelling more as well. To some it up into getting into the line of work it was all by chance and always has been a huge interest to me.
Q3: Do you have any current favourite comic artists, photographers who may of influenced you to become the multi talented individual that you are?
My current favourite comic artists, easy question. Barbara Canepa and Alessandro Barbucci, creators of Sky Doll.
As go for photographers who have influenced me, none, however I have a lot of amazing photographers/ amazing friends who have helped me reach my goals and I could never thank them enough.

Q4: What are the main tools of your trade?
MY MAC
Paper and a pencil, and lots of fabrics!
Q5: How was it for you to learn the process of that? Did you teach yourself, take classes or learn from other existing artist’s tutorial?
Everything I know is a lot on self teaching learning through mistakes as well as youtube tutorials. Ever since I was able to pick up a pencil I have always drawn. I’ve never stopped and to only get better by practice. Never erase mistakes just draw over them.
Q6: Do you think its possible for you to describe the process of your preferred work, what are the dos and don’ts, the important aspects you set yourself to achieve your style of work?
It’s hard to describe everything I do all in one, my process is always scrambled to make sure I get everything done. I’m such a disorganized organized person. I start one thing, take a break then start another and keep it going in a circle until everything is done.
As for Dos and Don’ts you can’t really go wrong with art. However when it comes to cosplaying there are A LOT of Dos and Don’ts it boils down to the wig you wear to how you have to cut the fabric, sew in place, what fabrics to use, how it fits…
It’s all so important. If I was to make a list of Dos and Don’t on that it would be a large list.
Basically you want to look exactly like that character so you need to make sure you get every little detail including the picture of the cosplay, you need the right angles and the right amount of photoshop if needed to make the perfect image.

Q7: What are the biggest struggles you encounter as an artist / model?
The biggest struggle I find being an artist is the inspiration to finish a project, however I do get inspired easily just by people and their artwork. But like everyone I have my days with “writer’s block” or drawing block?
As for modelling I never have to struggle, I love being in front of the camera (not vein) I just find it so freeing. I feel like I can become this new persona I’m creating for the camera and show it to everyone. I just love it!
Q8: Do you have any other future plans that don’t involve cosplay and art? Would consider working outside that field and into something new?
Outside of my love I do have a job just like any other typical joe unfortunately, wish I could be a billionaire and quit but what can ya do right? But other then that no, I can’t see my self have a job outside of the art industry, I think I’d become way too bored with anything else.
Q9: Do you have any personal mottos, quotes or existing quotes that motivates you to do what you love doing? Can you share it with us?
Nah I can’t live my life by a quote or saying. What motivates me if energy from other inspirational people.
Q10: To round off the last question, where can your fans and new fans find updated news and progress from you, where can we find you? (links mate, websites, include everything that you want people visit you on)
