Interview with xbornx

Q1: Let’s start with the common question, if you can kindly introduce yourself.

Hey wasup my name’s Delva Borno but I go by xBORNx

Q2: How did you get into the field of your work?

When I was a kid I would draw in the inside of all my workbooks. The earliest drawing I could remember making was a knight killing a dragon, Since then I could never stop drawing .

Q3: Do you have any current favourite artists, comic artists, photographers who may have influenced you to become the artist that you are?

Oh man where do I start. My influences include Old masters like Alphonso Mucha to recent comic artist like Greg Cappulo, J Scott Campbell, and Mark Brooks,  But James Jean by far is my favorite and most influential of all. Every image he makes is super detailed and surprising.

Q4: What are the main tools of your trade?

If I have a pencil  and paper I’m Golden. I use mainly a HP toucsmart tm2. It’s a convertible tablet laptop which I enjoy. Batteryis great and its pretty light.Photos shop for my rendering and coloring needs.

Q5: How was it for you to learn the process of that? Did you teach yourself, take classes or learn from other existing artist’s tutorial?

Like anything…its  haaard lol.  I’m still learning new things to this day. Didn’t have any formal art training most of it has been self taught. The only thing taught to me was my colouring style, there’s a dvd set called “Digital art tutorial” get them they’re awesome.

Q6: Do you think its possible for you to describe the process of your art style, what are the dos and don’ts, the important aspects you set yourself to achieve your style of design?

My process involves drawing a sketch then redrawing it on Bristol board. This helps allot cause you pick out things you might of missed or add elements that would make the images better. After that I scan it the color it up in good ol photoshop.  Never fall in love with you first drawing or sketch, your just limiting your self.  Use that as guide as to where your imagination can lead you to.

Q7: What are the biggest struggles you encounter as an artist?

Always trying to get better and not completely hating what you create. Being an artist is the closest to being insane. Sometimes it’s hard to see what others love in your work.

Q8: Do you have any other future plans that don’t involve creative art?

I got in at the ground floor of a Q-tip factory. So I’ll be buying a Rocket car and a Diamond house in the near future lol. I would really like to have art involved in more of my future . I mainly do freelance work but a steady job as a cover artist or character designer would be my goal.

Q9: Do you have any personal mottos, quotes or existing quotes that motivates you to do what you love doing? Can you share it with us or provide words of wisdom from your experiences for those who look up to you?

You gotta  try …worst thing you can do is not try at all. You never want to look back and regret a missed opp.

Q10: What do you think the future will hold for all artists from all backgrounds from now?

Well according to Back to the Future, Hoverboards and wacky adventure with an old Professor…and be careful going into the past you might accidently sleep with your mother.

Q11: To round off the last question, where can your fans and new fans find updated news and progress from you,  - Where can we find you?
